Air conditioning usage guidelines

The guidelines for the use of air conditioning aim to ensure the correct and reasonable utilization of air conditioning equipment, and to maintain a favorable operating environment for the Children’s Dream Factory. Taking into account the relevant conditions and requirements for children’s use of air conditioning, the following regulations are hereby established for the use of air conditioning in the Dream Factory:

1. Conditions for Use:

1.1. The air conditioning can only be turned on for cooling when the summer temperature exceeds 35°C, and the cooling temperature should not be lower than 26°C;

1.2. The air conditioning can only be turned on for heating when the winter temperature is below 5°C, and the heating temperature should not be higher than 26°C;

II. Usage Guidelines

1. When the air conditioner is turned on, the doors and windows should be closed. The air conditioner should be turned off when people leave. It is strictly prohibited to turn on the air conditioner when no one is in the room;

2. Whether it’s summer or winter, after the air conditioner has been turned on for two hours, the corresponding doors and windows must be opened to maintain ventilation. The air conditioner should be turned off half an hour before the end of the night shift;

3. Before work, a designated person for the current shift should be responsible for managing the air conditioning in the store, ensuring accountability;

4. Regularly clean and disinfect the air conditioning filter screen, keep the appearance of the air conditioner and the air outlet clean, and do not disassemble and clean it yourself unless you are a professional;

5. In case of extreme weather conditions such as thunderstorms and strong winds, immediately turn off the air conditioning and cut off the power supply to avoid any adverse consequences;

6. Pay attention to electrical safety. If you discover any faults in the electrical circuit or air conditioning system, stop using it immediately and seek repair. Do not force it to use;

Attachment: Hazards of Air Conditioning to Children

Babies with weaker constitutions are prone to getting chilled, catching a cold, and even developing allergic rhinitis and conjunctivitis if they stay in air-conditioned rooms for too long. To prevent these problems, pediatricians also point out that parents need to learn how to use air conditioning scientifically.

When a baby experiences “air conditioning sickness”, the main symptoms include feeling easily fatigued, loose stools, loss of appetite, frequent diarrhea, and recurrent colds. When a baby is suffering from “air conditioning sickness”, the mother should promptly take the baby to the doctor. Secondly, the mother should encourage the baby to drink plenty of water, preferably plain water and diluted saltwater.

7 key points to note when using air conditioning for babies:

1. The temperature of the air conditioner should not be set too low or too high, with a room temperature of 26℃ being appropriate; the temperature difference between indoors and outdoors should not be too large, and it is better to keep it between 3℃ and 8℃ lower than the outdoor temperature. In addition, when severe convection and adverse weather occur, the temperature of the air conditioner should be adjusted in a timely manner.

2. Keep moisturizing at all times.

1) Use a humidifier.

2) Fill some containers with water and place them around the room.

3) Open the windows frequently for ventilation, as the moist outdoor air will help regulate the indoor humidity.

3. Children’s skin is delicate and they tend to sweat more, so the clothing materials should be soft, moisture-absorbent, breathable, and easy to wash. Light-colored pure cotton or pure knitwear is suitable. It is important to adjust the baby’s clothing in a timely manner.

4. Ventilation should be conducted every 2 to 3 hours when using air conditioning, and it should not exceed 5 hours at most, with each ventilation session lasting no less than 30 to 60 minutes. Especially when using air conditioning from the evening until going to bed at night, a ventilation should be conducted before going to sleep. A small window can be opened in the room with air conditioning to facilitate air exchange. Adults are strictly prohibited from smoking indoors or bringing in objects with irritating odors. If the baby has an allergic constitution or respiratory problems, an air purifier can be installed indoors to improve air quality.

5. About every two weeks, parents should rinse the air filter (filter membrane) of the air conditioner with plenty of clean water or a dedicated cleaning agent, so as to ensure the quality of indoor air. At the same time, the cooling coil in the air conditioner should also be cleaned regularly.

6. Measure your baby’s temperature at least once a day.

7. It is strictly prohibited to use air conditioning during the period when children have not recovered from a cold.
